New Digs

Image
This last weekend Bunny got new digs! She now has the biggest stall on the property or the "Barbie Dreamhouse"  She has a new neighbor named Leon. Creeper looking in on us. At least at this point she'd stopped weaving like a mad girl and no one was calling me to tell me my horse was nuts! Saturday was long as she got used to the change.   Beautiful view out the back at sunset. Yay Bunny! Much better set up for her. Now that she's chilled anyway!

Weird… again

So Bunny has been a little off since mid February. Deep abscess is what we hypothesized. In March I took her boot off and began picking her hoof and it started gushing blood.   So an emergency vet bill later and I'm wrapping her foot because she had an abscess and rather than burst up or down, It went sideways. Vet has only seen it twice in her career.....  On antibiotics 2 times a day for 10 days. Sigh. Doesn't she know I already have to wake up super early without her help? Its finally looking pretty ok. We are going to put a shoe with a pad on it today and see where we are at. So much for the fun camp we had planned in two weeks. Stupid me for planning something!

Swag

So we are trying to think positive this year. Since I don't have an official barn team, I made my own. Sassy Eventing.    Here is our cross country shirt. She also has a stall guard with the same logo that my Mom got us for my birthday last year.   And stickers just for fun!  Here's hoping we get to use them!!!!!

it may not look like much to most… But I’ve worked so hard to get her back here that I feel like my heart might explode with happiness! Go Bunny Go! (She was pretty excited to do more than trot circles too) Sound and happy! Our two goals this year!

Guess who?

This girl…. I’m giving meds twice a day so I’m at the barn at 4:30am. Do I get a nicker? Nope! Just goofy girl hiding behind her door.  Miss, your giant ears make you hard to miss! Guess I interrupted her beauty sleep🤷‍♀️

Not the best start

Welcome to 2026! The year of fun and no vet bills. Right?Well we made it all the way to January 6th without seeing the vet🤦🏼‍♀️ “A good run” as one of my barn mates put it.  We are hoping it’s an abscess that exited through her coronet band and just irritated the leg causing the edema.  But her SSA (the stall-side infection test) was 1180.  It’s supposed to be 0.    So we got a goody bag of antibiotics. At least Napa’s new bags are cute! Two doses a day for 10 days.  Mixed with a bit of TC Complete and molasses. See you soon 4am🥶 At least I can make it ahead of time and just drop it off   I love my horse! I love my horse! (If I say it enough times maybe it will be true at 4am)
